The ABCS Fine Arts Competition is intended to provide fine arts competition and fellowship for Fundamental Independent Baptist schools with like standards of faith and practice. The critique of the judges will help to direct the students as they strive to enhance their skills. It will also give our young people an opportunity to compete with other young people of like faith and practice as well as opportunities to develop leadership skills. Selection of material, quality of performance, appearance, attitude, and attentiveness at events should reflect the character objectives of Jesus Christ our Lord.
The ABCS Fine Arts Competition provides an opportunity for third through twelfth-grade students to compete in Bible and Fine Arts areas such as academics, music, speech, art, graphic design, and handiwork. Although this is a competition for which the student body prepares diligently in the hopes of winning, the prominent purpose goes beyond the competition aspect. LBA desires to use this competition as an opportunity to motivate, encourage, and train its students to serve the Lord with their talents and abilities in their local church. This is accomplished as we prepare students to sing, preach, teach, present, and memorize God’s Word.
The ABCS Athletics program (ABCSA) provides a Christ-centered platform for physical competition among other schools of like faith. Athletic competition tends to bring out the worst in us; this includes players, coaches, and fans alike. It reveals the true state of man through the many intense emotional situations he faces throughout the games. LBA believes this safe yet intense environment provides a wonderful opportunity to teach young athletes how to respect authority, handle their own emotions, state their grievances, and overcome adversity in a Christ-like manner. Although competition is a big part of the ABCS Athletics program, there is also a great deal of fellowship among the schools of ABCS, and at the end of the day, these schools understand that we are all on the same team for the glory of God.
