LBC will be hosting a fall Security Training Event designed specifically for members of our Usher/Security Team who provide armed security during church gatherings. This hands-on training will focus on developing practical firearms skills and team tactics for responding effectively and safely in a church environment.

Morning Session: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session: 1:00–4:00 p.m.

Each session will be limited to 4–5 participants, allowing for more individual instruction and additional time working through shooting and scenario drills. When registering, please indicate your preferred date and session time. Attendance and weather will determine which date is used. If both dates fill, we will hold training on both dates.

The training will take place at Mike Hicks’ property, approximately 20 minutes from the church. Donuts and drinks will be provided. All participants will be required to sign a waiver before participating.

Training Will Include

• Firearm safety and its application in a church security environment
• Rapid aimed-fire skills
• Drawing from concealment and obtaining a clear line of engagement
• Moving safely with a firearm in a crowded environment
• Responding during the critical first moments of an active threat
• Team tactics
• Scenario drills using steel and paper targets

What to Bring

• Your firearm
• Holster and magazine pouches (a pocket may be used if you do not have a magazine pouch)
• 2–3 spare magazines
• A concealment garment similar to what you normally wear while serving at church
• Impact-resistant eye protection and hearing protection
• Hat
• 150+ rounds of practice ammunition

This event is limited to current LBC Usher/Security personnel.
